Cropping Season
The picking season is longer than for Elsanta with less pronounced peaks.

Fruit Quality
The fruit of Olympia is very attractive, glossy and bright red in colour. The shape of the fruit is conical and uniform. The berries are firm and have an excellent shelf life.

Fruit Yield
Excellent productivity. Olympia produces a higher % Class 1 fruit compared to Elsanta. The average size of the fruit (ca. 28g) is larger than Elsanta.

Plant Characteristics
Plants are slightly more vigorous than Elsanta with an erect habit. The variety grows vigorously and is strong against winter-frost. The fruit is well displayed and can be picked rapidly.

Disease Resistance
Olympia is resistant to Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae) and crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum). It is less susceptible to powdery mildew (Oidium fragariae) than Elsanta, but a standard spray programme is recommended. Olympia is proving to be a robust variety, performing well on a wide range of areas.

Use of the Variety
Olympia is a high-yielding variety and can be used in several growing systems. Thanks to its large berry size and high % Class I, Olympia has reduced picking costs and is also appreciated by PYO farms.
